Los Angeles schools closed due to terror threat

LOS ANGELES (Web Desk) – All schools within the Los Angeles Unified School District were closed Tuesday after the district received a “credible terror threat.”

School district officials and law enforcement confirmed the threat, The Washington Free Beacon reported.

According to Police a bomb threat was called into a member of the school board.

Schools were immediately closed and students and staff were instructed to stay away from all campuses that belong to the district Tuesday morning.

Police are conducting a search operation of all schools in the district following the threat, which was received less than two weeks after a pair of attackers opened fire on a San Bernardino holiday party and killed 14 people.

Los Angeles schools serves over 655,000 students, making it the second largest district in the country, according to CBS News.
