First ever woman deputy speaker in KP assembly

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elects Doctor Mehar Taj Roghani as first ever deputy speaker, she belongs to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Dr Roghani secured 77 votes while her opponent, PML-N Arbab Akbar Hayat, managed to bag 37 votes.

A total of 119 votes were polled in the assembly of 124 MPAs, due to the absence of five legislators.

KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar rejected four votes.
