Afghan forces start receiving reinforcements as fight continues in Helmand

KABUL (Web Desk) – Afghan forces have started receiving finally in the town of Sangin in Helmand province as intense fight continues against Taliban attackers who said to have taken over major portions of the town.

Britain has also announced to send in ground troops to Helmand to fight alongside Afghan forces first time since the withdrawal of Nato forces.

According to Afghan media the necessary goods and ammunition have been dropped to forces through planes who gaining an upper hand against Taliban insurgents now.

Earlier the Taliban spokesman was quoted in several reports as saying that government will soon announce defeat in the town.

The movement comes just days after a suicide bomb attack outside Bagram airfield where as many as six US personnel were killed.
