Edhi Home robbery: Two arrested, 5kg gold recovered in Karachi

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Two men have been arrested for their involvement in a robbery at the Edhi Home in Kharadar last year.

The anti-car lifting cell yesterday raided two houses in Korangi and Malir area of the port city and recovered five kg gold from the suspects.

ACLC SSP Irfan Ali Bahadur said some of the suspects had been arrested earlier but the main culprit, Umair Shah, had escaped to Dubai, Pakistan Today reported.

The SSP added that police received tip off that Shah had returned to Karachi from Dubai a few days ago and was living in a house in Korangi.

During interrogation, Shah said, he along with his associates, had committed the robbery at the Edhi Home. He further disclosed that before leaving for Dubai, he had left the gold he had robbed with his friend, Jaam Akhtar, who lived in Malir. When he ran out of the looted money in his possession, he returned to the city.

The SSP said the police conducted a raid in Malir and arrested Akhtar. He was found having five kg gold in his possession.
