LAHORE (Web Desk) – A gang rape victim has nominated the personal staff officer (PSO) Punjab education minister Rana Mashood as the key suspect.
The 15-year-old was allegedly intoxicated and raped yesterday by at least nine men in a guest house on Mall Road.
On Saturday, she recorded a statement with Race Course police station, believing the key suspect, Adnan, as the minister’s staff officer.
The Rana Town resident, in her statement, said she was kidnapped while she was going to a tailor along with her brother. She said she was intoxicated and later on raped at some hotel room.
Police officials claim to have raided the place on a tip-off of immoral activities being carried out there. During the raid, the girl was recovered from one of rooms while six to seven young men have been arrested, DIG Haider Ashraf told the media on Saturday.
The girl was shifted to the Services Hospital Lahore in critical condition, while the medics confirmed sexual assault.
Police have registered a case and launched further investigation.
Rana Mashood has publicly denied any relationship with the alleged rapist or any of accomplices.
