Qasab’s statement in Hindi not acceptable in Pakistan, argues Lakhvi’s counsel

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The lawyer of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, who is under arrest in Pakistan for conspiring Mumbai attack s in 2008, questioned the admissibility of Ajmal Qasab’s testimony in Pakistan.

The counsel, during the hearing of a plea in Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking dismissal of Lakhvi’s bail, stated that any statement reordered in Hindi language is not acceptable in Pakistani courts. “Qasab’s statement submitted to the court is in Hindi language”.

The bench, comprising of Justice Anwar-ul-Haq and Justice Shaukat Siddiquee, asked the prosecution’s lawyer to argue against Lakhvi’s lawyer on next hearing.

Earlier Lakhvi was released, by the court, on bail but Police arrested took him into custody for a separate crime.

Ajmal Qasam was the only arrested culprit of the Mumbai attacks, that killed 160 people in 2008. India hanged him for the crimes of terrorism and murder.
