PM Nawaz announces Rs5 cut in price of petrol, diesel

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced on Saturday that petrol and diesel prices have been reduced by Rs5 per litre.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore, the PM declared that petrol and diesel prices have been further reduced by Rs5 per litre, similarly, he added, inflation rate has also fallen below two per cent.

To a question, prime minister urged Saudi Arabia and Iran to mutually remove their reservations.

In reply to a another question, the prime minister said matters between Pakistan and India were moving in the right direction. He regretted the Pathankot incident disturbed the negotiation process.

“The terrorists are now carrying out isolated acts to make their presence felt. However, these will also be eliminated under an effective strategy”, he said.

About the Karachi operation, the Prime Minister said the city was witnessed marked improvement in law and order situation.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the residence of former District Nazim Lahore Mian Amir Mehmood to condole the death of his father Mian Zahoor Ul Haq.

The Prime Minister offered Fateha for the departed soul and expressed sympathies with Mian Amir Mehmood.
