ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – A local Islamabad court Tuesday granted pre-arrest bail to former Lal Masjid cleric Moulana Abdul Aziz against two surety bonds of Rs50,000 each.
Additional District & Sessions Judge Raja Asif Mehmood granted pre-arrest bail when Moulana Abdul Aziz appeared before the court.
Earlier on Monday when Aziz filed a pre-arrest bail request with the local court, the judge ordered SHO Aabpara Police Station to produce him before the court if he was in police custody. The court also asked police officials to submit the progress made in investigation of cases registered against Moualana Abdul Aziz.
The Aabpara Police Previously registered a case against Moulana Abdul Aziz under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Amplifier Act and a separate case under Section 506/2 of the PPC.
