KARACHI (APP) – As many as 12 death row prisoners have been hanged till death in different cities including Karachi and Faisalabad this morning, local media reported on Tuesday.
A death row convict, Nawaz, was hanged till death in Faisalabad’s Central Jail at 5:30am. He murdered two people over water dispute in Sangla Hill in 1992.
Three murderers—Mubashir Abbas, Muhammed Sharif and Riaz—were executed in Jhang’s District Jail in today’s small hours. Riaz killed a man over a domestic scuffle. Meanwhile, Mubashir and Sharif assassinated a taxi-driver after abducting him.
In Karachi’s Central Jail, two convicted prisoners, Muhammed Afzal and Muhammed Faisal, were sent to gallows as the day broke today. The duos killed a man, Abdul Jabbar, for resisting a robbery attempt in the megacity area of Korangi in 1992.
A convicted killer—Muhammed Iqbal—was hanged till death in Gujranwala’s Central Jail today. The deceased assassinated his close relative on August 13, 1996.
One of two death row prisoners i.e. Zafar Iqbal has been executed in Multan. The offender murdered a baby girl after torturing and raping her in 1996.
Sentence of the other convict—Waqar Nazeer—has been put on hold after a settlement deal was reached between the sides. The criminal shot dead a man who tried to resist robbery in 1996.
In Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, two more convicts, Nadeem Zaman and Javed, were sent to gallows. Zaman has a murder case lodged against him in Airport police station and convict Javed was involved in murder case registered at Kalar Saeedan.
Also, Mianwali witnessed two death row inmates on the gallows. Zafar Iqbal assassinated his father, while Rab Nawaz took life of a woman.
The death punishment of a convicted killer, Asghar Ali, was postponed after his heirs produced a settlement deal with the bereaved family in Dera Ghazi Khan.
