Iranian President Rouhani to reach Islamabad tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (Online) – President of Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Hassan Rouhani, will visit Pakistan on 25 to 26 March 2016.
Foreign Office first time officially announced the visit of Iranian President, earlier whenever asked for the confirmation of the visit Spokesperson  did not confirm the date of the visit.

Foreign Office in the release said that at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan (Nawaz Sharrif), the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will visit Pakistan from 25-26 March 2016.

This will be President Rouhani’s first visit to Pakistan as the President of Iran. The Iranian President will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Ministers, senior officials and businessmen.

During his stay in Islamabad, the President of Iran will hold meetings with the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The Leadership will have an exchange of views on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly after lifting of the sanctions on Iran that has opened new avenues for enhancing economic interaction. Cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual concern will also be discussed.

Relations between the two countries are rooted in a long history of mutual trust, based on cultural, linguistic and religious bonds.

The visit of Dr. Rouhani will further deepen the existing fraternal ties between the two countries. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had visited Iran in May 2014 and January 2016.
