ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Education and Professional Training has recommended establishment of a university in every district in order to provide the higher education facility at the door steps.
During its visit to the Higher Education Commission in Islamabad, it observed that the move would lessen the pressure on public universities at provincial headquarters.
The Chairman of the Commission said that the FATA University at FR Kohat would be fully functional by this year and its campuses would be set up at agency level in three years.
Meanwhile the Standing Committee has also advised the HEC to shut down sub-campuses of different universities to avoid disparities and maintain high standards of education.
