Farooq Sattar s PA Aftab Ahmad dies in Rangers custody

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Aftab Ahmad, the Personal Assistant of senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar, has died in the custody of Sindh Rangers.

According to media reports, the reason behind Ahmad’s death is yet to be ascertained. His dead body has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

Reacting to the death, MQM’s Khawaja Izharul Hassan has urged Sindh government to form a top level medical board to investigate into brutal killing in Rangers’ custody. The Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader said that medical board should identify those responsible of the killing.

Ahmad has been associated with MQM since 1990 and has been serving as Sattar’s coordinator since 2002.

Aftab Ahmad was arrested by law enforcement agencies personnel, in plain clothes arrested, from his residence at Federal-B (FB) Block 14 on Sunday.

On Monday, he was produced in a Karachi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), where Rangers were granted 90-day custody of Aftab Ahmad.
