Lodhi urges UN to resolve Kashmir, Palestine disputes

NEW YORK (Staff Report) – Pakistan’s Permanent Representative at the UN Maleeha Lodhi has urged for resolution of long-standing disputes in Kashmir and Palestine.

While speaking at a high-level debate on peace and security, she underscored the need for the honoring the commitments made to the people of Kashmir and Palestine in the form of UN resolutions.

Maleeha Lodhi urged the 193-member body to play its role against the military aggression and the denial of the right of self-determination to people living under occupation in both territories.

The Pakistani envoy questioned why the Security Council was reluctant to refer legal disputes to the International Court of Justice.
