Beijing: COAS and Chinese PM discuss state-level cooperation, CPEC

BEIJING (Staff Report) – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif called on the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Beijing on Tuesday morning and discussed cooperation in different sectors including defense.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chinese premier said both countries enjoy historic political, military and economic relations.

He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor project was not only a flagship project between both countries; he said it would also bring stability and development in the whole region.

He said Beijing is cooperating with Islamabad for regional peace and prosperity.

The Army Chief said Pakistan Army is ready to provide safe environment for CPEC. The Pakistan Army will take every possible measure to ensure the safety of Chinese engineers working in Pakistan, he said.
