Barriers removed from Musharraf’s house

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Rangers have removed barricades set up around the current residence of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in Karachi.

DG Rangers Sindh Maj Gen Bilal Akbar had ordered removal of all barriers from city streets last week. The 72-hour deadline given by the Rangers ended yesterday.

The Rangers, which is carrying out a widescale operation clean up in Karachi, removed the barricades as part of its operation.

The paramilitary said the street barriers were hindering security operations and causing inconvenience to people.

Musharraf has been residing in his daughter’s home in Zamzama area of Clifton since May last year.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had yesterday disapproved the Rangers’ operation in the city and said he would raise the matter with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
