LAHORE (Web Desk) – After a long wait, Eid-ul-fitr will be celebrated on the same day in Saudia Arabia and Pakistan this year.
Meteorologists believe that there are minor chances that the Eid moon will be sighted in Pakistan on 5th July, which would increase the chances of Eid being celebrated on the same day in both countries.
According to Ruet-e-Hilal Council Secretary General Khalid Ejaz Mufti, the new moon is visible to the naked eye under a a number of special conditions: when the previous day’s sun has been set for at least 19 hours and the difference between the sun’s setting and the moon’s emergence is at least 40 minutes.
According to meteorologists if Saudia Arabia celebrates Eid after observing 30 fasts and Pakistan does the after 29 fasts, then both countries will observe Eid on the same day.
