Jumatul Wida today

ISLAMABAD: Jumatul Wida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan is being observed today (Friday) across the country.

Millions of fasting people across the country will offer Friday prayers at mosques and prayer grounds across the country.

Jumatul Wida has a special significance since it is a prelude to the departure of the holy month of Ramzan. Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) also stressed the sanctity of this day.

In the capital, the biggest Jumatul Wida gathering will be held at Faisal Mosque.

All large and small mosques across the country would be decorated and mosque administrations have made special arrangements to accommodate the extraordinary number of worshipers and provide them with extra space outside the mosques.

Special security arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of people offering prayers inside mosques.

In their sermons, Imams and Khateebs will stress greater dedication to prayers, and call on Muslims to seek Allah’s forgiveness and be kind to their fellow beings.

Ulema and religious leaders will urge greater Muslim unity and stress the need for a joint struggle to emancipate the Muslim world.

They will also emphasize the importance of maintaining unity and sectarian harmony, asking people to be weary of miscreants and anti-state elements who want to create animosity and hatred among followers of different schools of thought.

They will call for greater unity among Muslims to counter present-day challenges.

Prayers will also be offered for the independence of Kashmir, Palestine and other parts of the world where Muslims are engaged in the struggle for their right to self-determination.
