DERA GHAZI KHAN (Staff Report) – Renowned social media sensation Qandeel Baloch, who was strangulated by her brother in Multan on Saturday, has been laid to rest in her native village Shah Saddaruddin in Dera Ghazi Khan district.
On the occasion, a local cleric led the formal Islamic funeral prayer of the the model on Sunday morning. Close relatives and a number of locals attended the funeral.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the alleged killed of Qandeel Baloch, Waseem, who also confessed to his crime in an interaction with media. “I killed her for honour,” he said.
The model was largely known for uploading controversial and provocative content on her social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter.
She had arrived in Multan but did not disclose her location due to security threats. Family sources revealed Qandeel’s brother had asked her to quit modelling and was threatening her for a long time.
Baloch had also approached the Interior Ministry seeking personal security, at which she was asked to contact the local police station.
