Bin Laden s home to be converted into graveyard

ABBOTABAD (Web Desk) – The compound where Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces, will be converted into a graveyard for area residents.

The decision was taken by the cantonment board who has also erected walls over the boundary of the compound located in Bilal Town.

The heavily fortified complex was visited by the Abottabad Complex to investigate the incident. It was later decided by the commission that the compound be demolished.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government advertised to claim ownership of the compound. However, there were no claimants and the area measuring 4 Kanal and 8 Marlas was transferred to the provincial government.

The KP government  decide to develop an amusement park at the location but there has been no progress over the project. The cantonment board decided to erect a wall around the compound and convert it into a graveyard for the residents of Bilal Town and Lower Jinnahabad.

Osama bin Laden, the leader of the outlawed Al-Qaeda, was killed in a military operation by US forces on 2nd May, 2011.
