Qandeel Murder Case: Mufti Qavi goes into hiding as polygraph test confirms statements of prime suspects

MULTAN (Web Desk) – Suspended member of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Abdul Qavi, has gone into hiding and his mobile phone has been switched off since he was nominated in the Qandeel Baloch murder case, the police said on Monday.

The officials said that Mufti was named in the case after initial investigation into the killing of the social media sensation and now raids were being conducted to arrest him.

Meanwhile, the police have also received the polygraph test reports of prime accused Waseem Ahmed and Haq Nawaz. The tests confirmed that the statement recorded by the suspects were true.

On the occasion, the police officials also confirmed that detained suspects will be produced in the court to seek further remand as the investigation has not yet concluded.

It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Qandeel Baloch was murdered by her brother Waseem Ahmed at her Multan residence on June 16 while she was asleep.

The accused claimed that he had killed her for honour while the police is currently investigating whether he was assisted by any other family members or not.
