MELBOURNE (APP) – Top seeded American Serena Williams staged a barnstorming comeback to reach the Australian Open quarter-finals on Monday, defeating Spain’s Garbine Muguruza in a tough three setter.
The 18-time Grand Slam champion beat the 24th seed 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 to set up a last eight clash with last year’s finalist Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia, seeded 11.
