Peshawar roadside blast leaves 7 policemen injured

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – At least seven police officials were injured when a roadside bomb targeting a Rapid Response Force (RRF) van, exploded at Warsak Road, near Darmangi Village on Thursday.

Initial reports revealed the van carrying police officials was patrolling in the area when the bomb exploded, injuring seven officials. Security officers rushed to the site and cordoned off the area for preliminary investigations, Express Tribune reported.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for immediate treatment where one of the officer is said to be in critical condition.

Bomb Disposable Squad also reached the site and started search operation.

The war-torn Khyber Pukhtunkhwa is sporadically being targeted by extremist groups. A suicide bomber hit Mardan city of the province leaving 13 people dead including two policemen on September 2.

Another roadside blast targeted policemen in Garhi Sobat Khan area of Peshawar in June leaving an official dead.
