LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to PTI Chief Imran Khan and the Federal government after admitting a petition seeking court’s orders for stopping sit-in announced by PTI outside PM Sharif’s residence in Raiwand.
A single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Karim took up for hearing petition filed by local lawyer Farooq Sattar.
Petitioner’s counsel AK Dogar argued before the court that Imran Khan has been doing hateful speeches against the ruling party which could provoke violence.
He pleaded that sit-in outside PM Nawaz family house may lead to a clash between the two parties, hence, the court must intervene and stop the PTI from doing so.
Upon this, the court issued notices to Imran Khan and government for September 15.
Chairman PTI Imran Khan had announced to march towards Raiwind, Nawaz Sharif’s private residence, on September 24 and invited all citizens of Pakistan to join his Raiwind-bound caravan.
