Tension escalates as three buses, one truck torched in Karachi

KARACHI (Web Desk) – At least three buses and one truck were set ablaze by some unidentified persons in different areas of Karachi on Wednesday night raising questions over the law and order situation in the metropolis.

According to details, some miscreants torched a bus in Labour Square area of Landhi and fled away however, police officials reached the site and started preliminary investigations.

Another incident of the same nature was reported in Napier area where a bus was set on fire.  Police sources confirmed that some unidentified persons were demanding extortion money from bus owner Liaquat and on his refusal the bus was torched.

Moreover, Some unidentified persons also set ablaze a bus in North Nazimabad’s Buffer Zone area while a truck was also set on fire in the area. No casualty was reported in the incidents.

The multiple incidents raised eyebrows of the locals who were earlier expressing satisfaction over the calm situation in the city.

MQM’s Rabita Committee Pakistan issued a statement condemning the incidents and asked law enforcement personnel to arrest the culprits involved in such activities.
