PTI MNA disqualified over human smuggling, fake degree

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday disqualified the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ijaz Chaudhry for his involvement in human smuggling and holding a fake graduation certificate.

A three member bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case and upheld the decision of Chaudhry’s disqualification by election tribunal.

Earlier the tribunal had disqualified him for possessing fake degree and human smuggling.

He was elected as MNA from NA-108 Mandi Bahauddin during the general elections of 2013 independently and joined Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) afterwards.

Chaudhry resigned as PMLN member and settled to join PTI in November 2014 when he held a meeting party chief Imran Khan in Islamabad.
