KARACHI – A delegation of senior members of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) met with Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar led by Secretary General Aijaz ul Haq and discussed the internal and external situation of country besides safety and security of journalists.
CPNE resolved to defend the supremacy of the constitution and determined that the all newspapers, magazines will never compromise on the national security.

The delegation appreciated the Pakistan Army’s success and sacrifices in the Operation Zarb-e-Azb and also praised the restoration of peace especially in Karachi.
Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar welcomed the CPNE delegation and assured full support to the editors to address the problems and security challenges being faced by journalists. He also reiterated commitment to save the country’s borders from external and internal threats.

The participants of the delegation were Aijaz ul Haq, Aamir Mahmood, Wamiq A. Zuberi, Dr. Jabbar Khattak, Ikram Sehgal, Kazi Asad Abid, Ghulam Nabi Chandio, Dr. Waqar Yousuf Azeemi, Saeed Khawar, Rafeeq Afghan and Abdul Khalique Ali.
