KARACHI – Law enforcement agencies apprehended Allama Mirza Yousuf Hussain besides nearly 40 suspects in overnight raids in Karachi on Saturday, police officials said.
Yousuf Hussain, who is a prominent leader the Khateeb (Speaker) of Masjid Noor-e-Iman, was taken into custody by Police and Rangers during a pre-dawn joint action in Nazimabad.
Hussain has been shifted to an unknown location for interrogation.

Hussain was present in the protest at Ancholi against the detention of former Senator Faisal Raza.
The arrest comes a day after police arrested Faisal Raza Abidi, former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senator, from his house in New Rizvia Society late Friday night.

Abidi was arrested in connection with the killings of two persons in Patel Para area a day earlier.
On Friday, unknown armed motorcyclists had shot two men dead in Karachi’s Patel Para neighborhood. The victims were identified as Abdul Baqi – a resident of Balochistan – and Ameen Abidi.
