Guru Nanak Dev s 548th birthday: Sikh pilgrims arrive in Lahore

LAHORE – Sikh pilgrims have started arriving at the Wagha Railway Station to attend the three-day anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.

One thousand Sikh pilgrims arrived at Wagah border to commemorate 548th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

Siddique-ul-Farooq, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board welcomed the guests.

Special arrangements and strict security measures are in place for the three-day event that will start from tomorrow (Sunday).

Sikh pilgrims including children perform rituals at Gurudwaras while many of the children are excited to visit historical places in the Punjab province.

The Sikh pilgrims thanked Pakistani authorities for the grand reception and said that Pakistan is their second home and also prayed for the country’s solidarity.

This year, around 3,316, visas have been issued to Sikh Devotees for celebrations to mark Guru Nanak Dev’s birth anniversary, the founder of the Sikh religion.

Sikh pilgrims will return to their homeland on November 19.
