LAHORE – At least 14 Pakistani nationals have departed from Pakistan to Afghanistan and Syria to join terrorist group ISIS (Daesh) and fight for it, media reports said on Sunday.
Geo News claims to have received the documents which revealed that the 14 Pakistani nationals reached Syria and Afghanistan two weeks ago.
It was further revealed that the major recruitments took place in Islamabad and Punjab’s big cities.
The Pakistani nationals also include females who volunteered, sources added.
“Qari Abid in Syria would lure citizens into the proscribed organisation through social media and later made them contact his nephew Nabeel Ahmed,” report added.
ISIS who is rapidly expanding its so-called “Islamic state” is notorious for ‘hiring’ women as ‘sex slaves’. However, it’s not clear for what purpose the women were recruited from Pakistan.
