RAWALPINDI – General John Nicholson, Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.
Both high ups visited the area of Miramshah where the US general was briefed on social and developmental activities in North Waziristan by a general officer commanding (GOC). The GOC also briefed the US general about operation Zarb-e-Azb and return of TDPs.
General Qamar Bajwa hailed the performance of US forces in Afghanistan, and lauded the role of Resolute Support Mission (RSM) for capacity building of Afghan forces.
The Army chief also stressed the importance of the Pak –Afghan bilateral border security mechanism, adding that RSM could play an effective role in establishing the security mechanism.
General John Nicholson also appreciated the resolve and continuing efforts towards fighting terrorism and regional stability, and lauded the successful operation of Pakistan Army in North Waziristan.
