Govt announces 15 increase in advertisements rate

ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb has announced a 15% increase in government advertisement rates for newspapers and added that a handsome advertisement budget was being allocated to electronic, print and digital media separately.

The minister made this announcement during a reception given in the honour of the members of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) Majlis al-Shura on Wednesday.

Principal Information Officer (PIO) of Press Information Department (PID) Rao Tehsin Khan was also present on the occasion.

While lauding the role of newspapers for society welfare and for democracy, she said that government would take positive steps for the welfare of print media. It is worth mentioning here that APNS advertising round table conference was earlier held on January 17 which thoroughly discussed the role of the government department in advertisements.

Sarmad Ali, President APNS, Shafqat Jalil, Director General External Publicity Wing, APNS senior representatives Rameeza Majid Nizami, Senior Vice President Umer Mujib Shami, Secretary General SM Munir Jilani, Joint Secretary and others attended the round table conference.
