Court extends interim bail of prime suspects in Tayyaba torture case

ISLAMABAD – A local court in Islamabad on Wednesday extended interim bail of prime suspects in Tayyaba torture case, the local media reported.

Former additional session judge Raja Khurrum Ali and his wife Maheen have been nominated prime accused in the case.

The court while hearing the case expressed anger over not presenting Tayyaba and her parents and ordered the officials to bring them in the next hearing.

Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar transferred the Tayyaba torture case from the Supreme Court to the Islamabad High Court for further deliberations.

Tayyaba, a child maid, who was allegedly tortured by Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Raja Khurrum’s family, was rescued from his house in Islamabad with visible wounds on Dec 28, 2016.
