LAHORE – A man from Lahore has been blamed for stirring the spot-fixing controversy involving Pakistani cricketers.
Yousaf has been identified as the main culprit behind the Pakistan Super League (PSL) controversy, involving three players – Sharjeel Khan, Muhammad Irfan and Khalid Latif.
Reports in local media claimed Yousaf, who has connection to an Indian network, used to contact the players to fix the matches.
Yousaf is from Lahore and works for an NGO. He is one of the keys members of a betting network, Dunya News claimed on Sunday.
The revelation comes days after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) provisionally suspended Islamabad United players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the ongoing second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 in Dubai.
Fast bowler Muhammad Irfan was also questioned and his mobile was also confiscated.
