KARACHI (Web Desk) – DIG South Dr Jameel said on Wednesday that police has got hold of some cell phone numbers in the ongoing investigation into Sabeen Mahmud’s assassination case.
He said two years ago Sabeen Mahmud had taken out a rally in support of Valentine’s Day and she had been receiving threats ever since.
The DIG said there could be extremists or terrorist outfits behind the murder of the human rights activist.
He said the initial investigation shows that some terrorist outfits had made threatening phone calls to Sabeen Mahmud.
Dr Jameel said no contact could be made as yet to the victim’s mother.
