A journalist having no knowledge of cricket runs PCB: Wasim Akram

ISLAMABAD – Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram slammed the management of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for lack of planning, saying that a journalist who did not even know the basics of the game was overseeing all the cricket-related issues.

The veteran fast bowler, while addressing a business conference, blamed the inefficient domestic cricket structure of first-class cricket and said that the existent system could not produce quality batsmen.

“There is no planning by PCB and decisions are made over a phone call,” he added.

“I am ready for tips to the newly made ODI captain Sarfaraz Ahmed if the board wants this. However, I cannot stand outside the board with a placard,” he lamented.

PCB makes a lot of money from international cricket and Pakistan Super League, he said adding “A guaranteed percentage of those profits should be invested in domestic cricket instead of letting it rot.”
