LAHORE – Citizens were assuming that change in uniforms of Punjab Police may pose positive impact on the behaviours of force, but all in vain as police are providing shelters to land mafia which is occupying land of a citizen in a housing society of Lahore.
A Lahore-based lawyer Shahid Razaq Bhidar owes land situated in Punjab Small Industry Housing Society, Lahore and he had won a case contesting against the society for 20 years regarding the disputed land.
The lawyer said that a land grabber named Mujahid Shah started construction on 28 marlas of the total land on which the lawyer called the police of Defence B police station, Lahore Cantt asking them to stop the illegal construction on the land, as nobody can make construction on it due to the orders of the court.
But, Defence-B police station SHO Mian Qadeer started threatening the lawyers instead of taking action against the land grabbers, he alleged.
Bhidar moved ASP Defence and presented the stay orders issued by the court on which the ASP directed the SHO to halt working immediately but he neglecting all orders continued construction under his supervision.
The arrogant SHO did not give importance to court orders as he refused stay orders twice brought by the lawyer as well he turned down the orders issued by his immediate high ups.
Later the affected lawyer wrote an application to Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif stating that SHO Mian Qadeer is backing the land mafia instead of providing shelters to citizen.
Taking action on the application, the CM ordered the Punjab IG take action in the matter as per law.
The IG referred the case to DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, who directed the SP Cantt to look into the matter. The SP directed the SHO to take action against the mafia.
The SHO did not hold the miscreants but asked the lawyer to bring stay order for the third time.
The victim did not lose hope and brought stay order from court third time and contacted to higher authorities who have stopped working at the land.
ASP Defence is of view that construction on disputed land should be halted on first stay order, adding that the SHO has already suspended for his involvement in land grabbing in Johar Town. “I will make a report against him and sent it to SP Cantt for stern action”.
The victim said that he has appealed Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab IG Mushtaq Sukhera to initiate a legal action against the corrupt police officer SHO Mian Qadeer and land grabber Mujahid Shah in order to provide protection to citizens.
When contacted to SHO Mian Qadeer, he said that the stay order was not clear on which he asked Shahid Bhidar to bring another clear order. He added that the order issued second time was also unclear therefore the lawyer was asked to bring new order for third time.
