PESHAWAR – The Local Bodies (LB) by-elections on 43 seats of 14 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be held on Tuesday (tomorrow).
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all arrangements in this regard. Fool-proof security arrangements have been made. Heavy contingent of Police, FC (Paramilitary force) and personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) would be deputed on polling stations and polling booths to avert any untoward incident.
The LBs by-elections are being held in various districts of the province including Peshawar, Noshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Karak, Hangu, Laki Marwat, D.I.Khan, Tank, Abbotabad, Batgram, Swat, Boneer, Shangla, Upper Dir.
The official results of these by-elections would be announced on May 19.
It is worth mentioning here that these seats were vacated due to deaths of elected members of Local Bodies or their resignations.
Earlier, some forty candidates were elected unopposed in by elections of Local Bodies held in three districts. Prior to this, by-elections of LB were held on some 105 seats of 17 districts of the province.
