US offers assistance in Karachi bus attack investigation

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – US ambassador Richard Olson on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a bus in Karachi which left 45 people dead.

The ambassador, in a statement issued to media, offered assistance to the Pakistani authorities investigating the incident. This is an act of terrorism and United States backs Pakistan to eliminate such elements.

He went on to say that America favors every type of religious freedom and discourages such events of targeted killing.

Earlier unidentified assailants had killed as many as 45 Ismaili Shiites including 16 women on Wednesday morning.

Jundullah, a splinter group of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
