A gift from Pakistan : Game of Thrones upcoming season 7 episode 4 leaked online by a Pakistani

The fourth episode of Game of Thrones season 7 has been leaked online in middling quality by a Pakistani.

Leaking the episode on Reddit, the person captioned it “Gift from Pakistan”, giving an overt clue about his nationality.

According to Dead Line, the leak is not related to the recent hack that the premium cable network experienced last week, the leaked episode come from an Indian distributor called Star.

Sources familiar with HBO’s security breach told The Verge that a leak from a distribution partner is the source of this episode appearing online.

The distribution partner is Star India, and the company’s logo appears watermarked throughout the leaked episode. A Star India spokesperson confirmed the leak in a statement to The Verge. “This confirms the compromise of episode 4 of Game of Thrones Season 7, earlier this afternoon,” says a Star India spokesperson.

“We take this breach very seriously and have immediately initiated forensic investigations at our and the technology partner’s end to swiftly determine the cause. This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action.”

An upload of the episode to Google Drive quickly spread on Reddit but was swiftly removed under violation of copyright.

Earlier this week, unaired episodes of some of the premium cable network’s other shows, including the Duplass Brothers’ anthology show Room 104, were leaked right away.
