PESHAWAR: Renowned actor Iftikhar Qaisar, has been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital on Saturday after his health drastically deteriorated.
Iftikhar’s son, Hasnain said that his father who was unwell for some time now was kept out in the open and under the sky for a total of nine hours before he was admitted to the hospital’s ward.
The hospital administration, however, commented that the delay in his admission was as a result of Iftikhar’s test results. The administration added that he has now been admitted to the hospital, free of danger and is now under constant treatment.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Maryam Aurangzeb expressed her concern over the veteran’s condition and said he is a great actor and an asset of the country.
The minister added that the government will take all possible measures for the ailing actor’s treatment and instructed her ministry’s officials to especially take care of the actor and look after his health.
The actor has received the President’s Pride of Performance Award, along with his acclaimed performances in Urdu, Hindko and Pashto plays.
