Nawaz Sharif likely to leave for London today

LAHORE – Deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to leave for London today (Thursday) following his ailing wife’s relapse.

According to local media, Nawaz is set to leave for London today to visit Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who has been hospitalised again on Wednesday.

Sources added that the former Prime Minister will come back to Pakistan to attend the hearing at the accountability court by October 2.

On Wednesday, Maryam Nawaz tweeted that her mother’s health deteriorated Tuesday evening following which she was readmitted to the hospital.

The former first daughter disclosed that her mother was taken to hospital where the doctors were trying to stabilize her condition.

She also sought prayers for her ailing mother.

Kulsoom who is undergoing treatment at Princess Grace Hospital is accompanied by her daughter Maryam and sons Hussain and Hasan.

Last week, the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was discharged after she stayed in the hospital for two nights.

Maryam Nawaz had then announced the successful third surgery of her mother suffering from lymphoma.

Nawaz’s Indictment

The former premier appeared before the accountability court on September 26 to face references filed by the NAB against him and his children and son-in-law on alleged corruption.

Judge Mohammad Bashir had adjourned the hearing and summoned Nawaz on October 2 for indictment in the cases.
