Dawar Mehmood, the man behind Anwar Maqsood’s most acclaimed theatre play Siachen is set to return with a new play titled Hua Kuch Yoon, starting November 22. This time, the play is penned by actor Sajid Hasan. The play will tour seven cities, starting from Peshawar and ending in Karachi.
Mehmood said, “It’s the first love story that I’m directing. It’s written by Sajid Hasan. Anwar Maqsood has read it, liked it and endorsed it. It’s going to begin on November 22 in Peshawar, after which it will travel to Multan, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. In Islamabad, it will run for three weeks in January then Lahore and then will finally be staged in Karachi.”
Throughout the years, Anwar Maqsood has played an important part in reinventing theatre. However, he took a break last year and gave the mantle to Sajid Hasan. And that is how Hua Kucch Yun was penned down by the actor.
Sajid Hasan has said that the play is a, “symbolic love story that spanned for over 60 years. It’s a work of fiction, a massive undertaking in terms of production.” It took Sajid more than a year to write it.
Anwar Maqsood has also extended his good wishes to the makers of the play. In his words, it is going to be a successful venture.
