ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif says Pakistan Army is determined and capable to defeat nefarious designs of the enemy against the country.
Addressing a ceremony at National Defence University on Wednesday, the COAS said contours of future wars are fast changing. Our enemies are supporting terrorism to destabilise the country, he stated.
He said Pakistan is opposed to using proxies against other countries and it won’t allow any other country to use proxies against us.
Raheel Sharif said Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of the partition. Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable. He said Pakistan desires a just solution of Kashmir dispute in the light of United Nations resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Referring to achievements made in Zarb-e-Azb operation, the Chief of Army Staff said the successes in the operation have created space for decisive surge against terrorists in urban areas. The military action would also be extended to big cities in order to eliminate terrorism and extremism, the COAS added.
He said the enhanced civil-military coordination has become even more critical to achieve final success in the war on terror.
