LAHORE – Investigators from three Pakistani departments are reportedly engaging in a ‘war’ over custody of a Czech model who was arrested with nine kilogrammes of heroin at Lahore airport earlier this week.
The 21-year-old identified as Tereza Hluskova, travelling to Ireland via Abu Dhabi, was caught by Customs officials after successfully passing through two Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) checking counters at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday. She was shifted to Customs House after the officials refused to hand her over to the ANF.

While the ANF and Airport Security Force (ASF) are struggling hard to get the model’s custody for interrogation, according to leading Urdu daily Nawai-i-Waqt, the Customs isn’t just ready to hand the woman over to any other department.
After an exchange of strong words between the officials at the airport following the model’s arrest, the newspaper reports that the three departments have been playing engaged in a tug of war over her custody by writing official letters to each other.
The situation has aggravated to such an extent that officers from these departments have started doing legal research leaving behind all the departmental work just to ascertain who could win the woman’s custody.
According to the law, the Anti-Narcotics Force holds the right to detain and investigate the criminal in this case.
Tereza, a famous Czech model, was in Pakistan on a three-month family visit visa which was issued on November 15 and valid till February 14.
Meanwhile, authorities have begun raiding different parts of the city based on the information provided by the woman.
Multiple cases of large quantities of drugs being smuggled via Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) made the headlines last year as a racket allegedly involving PIA officials as well as Heathrow Airport’s ground staff was busted.
