ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday slammed police of PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while expressing dissatisfaction over investigation into recent rape and murder cases.
The chief justice expressed displeasure while hearing the two cases from KP regarding Asma rape and murder, and Asma Rani killing.
The apex court also summoned Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary to “witness” the proceedings of the cases in order to note the competency of KP police.
The chief justice remarked that Chaudhary “used to criticise other people and claims that the province has the exemplary police,” adding that the case should be heard in his presence.

When the chief justice inquired about the arrest of the prime suspect Muhajidullah, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general informed the court that it is yet to known either the accused has gone to Saudi Arabia or Dubai. He added that Mujahidullah has an iqama (work permit) from Dubai.
At the last hearing, Justice Saqib shown anger over police performance in the case, He had remarked that what the exemplary KP police were doing when a medical student was killed in Kohat
On Jan 29, Asma Rani, a student at Abbottabad Medical College, was shot dead in her hometown when she had been visiting his family during session break at the college. The victim had received three bullets and later she was shifted to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Aasma, in a statement before her death at the hospital, alleged that Mujahid Afridi opened fire at her.
After the killing, the suspect fled abroad, while police on Tuesday arrested an accomplice, Mujahid Gul Afridi, of him.
4-year-old Asma Rape-slay case
Hearing another case pertaining to killing of a four-year-old girl after being raped in KP, the chief justice such terrible incident happened but no any development has been made in the case by the police.
Justice Saqib while addressing Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Salahuddin Mehsood said that the apex court has taken suo moto notices for public.
He also directed the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory to submit its report to the police as soon as possible in the minor girl case. The court has adjourned hearing till Feb 21.
