ISLAMABAD – Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday reiterated his stance that he can work under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif but not under Maryam Nawaz.
Talking to a presser in Taxila, Nisar said: “I am not politically-orphaned that I will call sir, madam to my junior”. The former interior minister said that he had sidelined himself in the party as he could not get commands from Maryam, daughter of the PML-N’s president.
Nisar Ali Khan also threatened to make the Dawn leaks report public if the party did not convene a meeting of the Central Executive Committee on the issue.
Talking about the confrontation with the judiciary, the estranged leader of the PML-N said that party leaders were on the same page that confrontation with judges was not a wise idea.
He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other party leaders also propagated the policy free of the clash with the judiciary.
He highlighted that personal attacks on judges will more deteriorate the situation. Nisar said he had not slammed Sharif or his daughter over criticising the judiciary.
The former interior minister said that he will remain active in the party. He said that upcoming election will decide about new prime minister of the country.
