Indian army targets Pakistani school van carrying schoolchildren along LoC, driver martyred

RAWALPINDI – A Pakistani national embraced martyrdom after Indian forces targeted a school children van in Battal Sector along the Line of Control, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

In a message on Twitter, ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said that “Indian unethical and unprofessional approach across Line of Control continued terrorising civilians as the van driver embraced shahadat when the Indian forces opened unprovoked fire on the school children van in Battal sector”.

Terming it a violation of Geneva Convention and ceasefire understanding, the military spokesman also shared a video in which Indian terror is described by a girl student inside school van targetted today in Battal Sector.

A total of 66 civilians were killed and 228 sustained injuries due to Cease Fire Violations (CFVs) committed by Indian forces in last five years (Jan 1, 2013 to date).

On Wednesday, Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir Khan told National Assembly as many as 1,394 ceasefire violations along Line of Control have been committed by Indian Army since Jan 1, 2017 to date.
