This simple trick can help you fall asleep in less than 60 seconds

Good sleep is a key for best health as it has potential to affect a person’s hormone levels, mood, and weight.

After a hectic day at work, everyone wants to fall asleep in no time at night to feel better, but many people cannot shut their brain off.

Stress, anxiety and other problems may cause sleeping disorders that lead to uncertain mental and emotional functioning, affecting the daily routine lives and relations with people.

People who are facing disorders usuually turn to medicines and sleeping pills to have good night’s sleep, but this method can result in dangerous side effects.

However, a simple exercise, which has been championed by best-selling author Dr. Andrew Weil, can help people to get rid of sleeping pills by adopting breathing techniques.

One of the techniques in known as “4-7-8” exercise that can send you to the world of nod in less than a minute, according to an article posted by Greg Evans on indy100.com.

The steps of the exercise as described by the author as as follows:

  1. Place the tip of your tongue on the tissue ridge on your upper front teeth and keep it there for the remainder of the exercise.
  2. Then exhale through your mouth, making a “whoosh” sound as you do.
  3. Follow this by closing your mouth and slowly breath in through your nose and count to four.
  4. Next, you’ll need to hold your breath for the count of seven.
  5. Exhale for the count of eight and make the same “whoosh” sound that you did in step two.

Then repeat this exact cycle three more times.”

The exercise allows a man to take in more oxygen on the four-count, releases more carbon dioxide into the lungs.
