AIOU celebrates students’ Motivation Day

ISLAMABAD – Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Tuesday celebrated students’ motivation day to bring the maximum number of people into the educational net.

The occasion, described as ‘Open Day’ was aimed at encouraging the students to continue their future study. The University availed the opportunity to introduce its educational facilities and the academic programs.

The University’s four Faculties and its various departments have set up special stalls on the occasion to appraise the visiting students about the programs, being offered at the higher educational level.

It was also part of enrolment campaign, inviting the students to apply for the admission, latest by April 16, with a nominal late fee.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said that the University has allocated Rs. 170 million in its annual budget for scholarships and fee-waiving to accommodate the needy and deserving students, particularly those living in less-developed regions.

The Day was arranged by the University’s Directorate of students’ affairs. It was also aimed at apprising the aspiring students of twenty-six brand new programs, launched during the last three and half years, many of them relating to the country’s socio-economic needs.
