Shehbaz Sharif admonishes SC for being engaged in irrelevant tasks

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz chief and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif fired a broadside at the Supreme Court and said that the court was taking notice of every irrelevant little detail.

Addressing a media gathering in Lahore, the President of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz welcomed National Accountability Bureau’s crackdown on corruption but hastened to add that the Bureau’s double standards will not be allowed anymore.

“NAB was ignoring corruption on one hand, while analyzing every fine detail on the other,” he noted and added that the sun of National Accountability Bureau was shining over Punjab.

The firebrand leader continued that fire and water could never blend with each other, as one would have to outlast the other.

“NAB must carry out the responsibility of delivering justice without any bias,” Sharif requested.

The PML-N leader also said that there could be a no bigger crime against a poor nation than some people from the elite getting their loans written off worth hundreds of billions in a matter of few decades, Express Tribune reported.

He said a handful people were blessed with all the luxuries life had to offer, while the rest of the nation was struggling for even the most basic necessities of life. Shehbaz Sharif said that he was willing to be held accountable if a single penny corruption is proven against him.

Addressing a Labour day event, the 66-year-old politician also lavished praise on Lahoris for refusing to take part in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s power show at Minar-r-Pakistan.
